The Massive 3.0" rebuildable Ultra Duty BALLISTIC joint exclusively from Ballistic Fabrication is built to withstand extreme punishment.  Its extra large 3/4" bore (bolt hole) is big enough to handle heavy torque, while the 3.0" diameter .320" wall housing accommodates 34 degrees of total misalignment.   


The giant 2" ball distributes the forces over a larger surface area and translates into a better ride and longer life as well as superior strength. 


Our entire line of 3.0" Ballistic joints feature thermoset cast Polyurethane races built exclusively to our specs from Prothane that won't deform under load and provides a smooth bearing surface for a noise free ride. These Ballistic Joints are fully greaseable and rebuildable.  The washer is laser cut from 4130 Chromoly steel and plated.


Our 3.0" FORGED Ultra Duty BALLISTIC joint  is also available if stud is needed.  Sold individually.

Assembled 3.0" Ultra Duty Ballistic Joint
After first use we highly recommend readjusting spanner nuts. We also recommend using blue Loctite on the set screw after adjustment.

3" ultra joint failure

I used a 3" ultra joint to replace a 3"x 1 1/2" urethane spring bushing on a Y-Link coil over suspension. The side loading bowed the threaded side until it blew out of housing and pushed the washer out of the other side on the first trip, spring bushings were lasting half a season but allowing to much flex. Highly demanding application so I think a large uniball will be the next experiment. I don't think these style joints will handle side loading. Other than that good build quality, I'm still going to use the rest of the joints in other applications
