 Xterra C200 Differential Cover

Welded 3/8" Steel

Xterra c200 Differential Cover. CNC Laser cut and CNC Press formed 8 times from one piece. The ultra thick 3/8" flange resists pulling off of the sealing surface while dragging the differential, while the 1/4" body resists denting even during the most abusive circumstances. Includes weld on skull logo, welded fill plug and  two sets of metric Grade 8 hardware. Welded and Machined flat.

To identify weather your Nissan truck has a C200 or an M226 ( Dana 44 variant) differential, check your door tag for these marks -

 CA = C200k, 31 is a 3.13:1 ratio (AT, X model)

 CC = M226; 33 is 3.36:1, 35 is 3.54:1 and 36 is 3.69:1

If you have an automatic transmission, the rear end will be a C200 with a 3.13:1 ratio ... if you have a manual trans, it will be an M226 (Dana D44 variant) with either a 3.54:1 or 3.69:1 ratio (depending on year)

 We offer the M226 here

Absolutely amazing

Ordered this diff cover because of how flimsy the stock diff cover is and let me tell you this thing is beefy if I needed another I would definitely order again. Can't wait to drag it on some rocks!

Nissan Frontier C200 rear differential cover

Ok.. as others have said this thing is a beast!! It’s WAY overkill for my overlanding & moderate off roading but there will never be any damage to my gears with this cover! Incredible product! I hesitated at first but after getting it, I’m so happy I did. The pictures speak for themselves as to the difference between the stock piece of tin vs this thing. Installation was very easy and straightforward, only issue I had was the wrong pitch thread on the bolts but I believe it was my mistake when ordering. I gave it a good wipe down and then painted it gloss black, taped off the skull and painted white first coat then some jungle green… then my 12 year old side kicked in and gave it a few coats of glow paint with finial coats of clear coat.. As far as I know Ballistic Fabrication is the only company to make a cover for our C200 axle. Great product, quick shipping and definitely HIGHLY RECOMMEND it for anyone who wants or needs a new diff cover. Don’t waste money buying a stock one.. The only other thing I can say is that you do need to make or fab your own way of retaining the brake line as the stock cover has a bracket welded to it and this doesn’t. Certainly not a make or brake deal just a heads up.

Thank you so much for the reply Shawn. We truly appreciate the feedback and especially the pictures. You and your son did a great job. We take pride in creating solid covers that can withstand some rough rides. We hope to have you back again soon, enjoy and have fun!

Serious strength for a glaring weakness.

Nissan really dropped the ball with the rear ends on the 2nd Gen Xterra. The option for a locker on the M226 is nice, but it's a weaker axle than the 1st Gen's HG46 which has locker options so why not just go that route Nissan? The C200K is even weaker, but since neither had a 3rd member like the HG46, you have to be really careful dragging the rear over rocks.

Ballistic Fab fixed that with their diff cover. This is about as thick as 10 OEM diff covers, maybe more. It is very stout and worth every penny. Installation is a breeze, just drain the diff fluid first, remove the cover and put it back together. There is still some diff fluid in the diff after draining, so don't move your oil catch until all fluid has been removed. The added fluid capacity should keep the diff cooler, which should keep the diff happy.

The only improvement I could see would be to replicate the OEM brake line bracket and weld it to the diff cover. It's not a big deal, but it would be nice to have.

I painted the cover orange and the Ballistic Fab skull black. It looks killer.

If you have damaged the stock rear diff, don't waste your money replacing it with another stock cover from Nissan, get the Ballistic Fab cover and never have to replace it again.

Great diff cover

When I found out the dealer cost for me to buy a factory diff cover was 185.00 I figured I'd rather spend a little more and replace it with something stronger that will last longer. This looks great painted smoke gray.

Well we are glad to see you went with ours, definitely going to last you longer and looks pretty rad as well :)
Thank s for the feedback, enjoy your day Mike!
